CIVIL ENGINEER - KINSHASA, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO (DRC)

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Career Options Africa Group is a HR Consultancy firm specializing in Recruitment, HR outsourcing and Immigration support in Africa with offices in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Burundi, Nigeria, South Africa and South Sudan.
Our client, an international trade company that specializes in sourcing high-quality materials from South America and Europe and delivering them to clients across South East Asia is looking for a Civil Engineer to be based in DRC.
THE JOB
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience. The key duty will be to design, plan, and oversee construction and maintenance of building structures and infrastructure.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
• Design, plan, and oversee construction and maintenance of building structures and
• infrastructure.
• Conduct site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings, and other).
• Assess potential risks, materials, and costs.
• Provide technical advice and solutions to engineering problems.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
• Manage and supervise construction projects from conception to completion.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare and present reports, proposals, and project documentation.
• Ensure that all project costs are controlled and monitored.
• Ensure that all assets are accounted for.
• Ensure that all projects are completed within the set timelines and to the correct quality
• standard.
• Ensure all drawings, documents, data packs, specifications, and procedures are up to date.
• Ensure that Project Leaders act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all
• participants
• Manage all stakeholders directly and/or through staff responsibilities.
• Monitor working hours, plans, and expenditures.

QUALIFICATIONS
The job holder should have the following qualifications.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• 5 to 10 years of experience in civil engineering.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
• Proficiency in engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in both French and English is preferred.
• Male candidates are highly recommended to apply.
